The oil painting is on a hand cut hardwood composite panel and shows richness in depth and detail. A towering building with many arched openings is sheltering a small group of figures as they go about their work below. A laundress carries a heavy load, perhaps to the water beyond. Sheets hang in the fresh air to dry. A beautiful garden statue seems to watch from the shade of a tall and willowy tree. This trumeau mirror is flanked with hand carved decorative trim and moulding , a decorative gold leafed detail divides the mirror portion from the painting. A gorgeous, soft crackle can be seen up close on the painting itself. The wooden frame is layered with depth, patina and texture. Piece is signed. They have sold their original hand made works of art at the NY Gift Show, in shops in Charleston, SC and shown in various home shows in North Carolina. They have also designed for furniture companies. They are launching their own web site and visiting National Trade shows starting in January 2009. They are going to offer a small selection here on eBay for the Christmas season. They do take commissions, and are able to capture any period, style, color and patina. Dustin has years of experience as a wood worker, carver and gilder while Brandi has been painting for twenty years. Painting is in oils, treated with a special finish to age it and sealed with a varnish. Painting after 17th century Dutch artist Aelbert Cuyp. Wooden fame entirely hand crafted by Dustin and finished with her specially developed painted patina and glaze and is built in birchwood.
