Description
- TANTO- Exquisitely made tanto, the main focus of which is the KOSHIRAE; consider the blade a gift. Everyone we have shown this tanto's koshirare to, including a well-known sword shop in Ginza (perhaps the best known), said that "it was rare to find such finely crafted kanagu". The motif is the same on all sections; that of the sakura and the kiku (the cherry blossom and the chrysanthemum), and we have attached a number of high-resolution photos to depict this. "One photo is worth a thousand words" as one colleague likes to put it, and this could never be truer then in this case. In addition to the beauty of the Fuchi, the Kashira, Sayajiri and Kurikata (all made of shakudo, the saya proper is lacquered in a checkerboard pattern and the Kodzuka matches the set. Therefore we have the rare chance of having a completely matching koshirae. The ray skin wrap of the tsuka, as the viewer can see, in in fine condition, and the 2 menuki, except for some very slightly wear, are also in very good condition. The kodzuka is in silver and shakudo. - The blade is so simple that we would like to consider it as secondary, a gift as it were. It is late Edo, with a gunome hamon with no nicks or chips (photos supplied on demand). Nagasa of 29cm. Mekugi-ana: 1. Comes in shirasaya mounts.FRANCAIS:- Très belle monture de tanto.
