JOHN GAZBEY CRUMPLER b1792' Description A rare and interesting mid 19th century sampler, commemorating the life of one John Glazbey Crumpler. The sampler records his birth on June 24th 1792 and was worked when he was 49 years old. I feel this is not his work but that of his grand daughter commemorating his life and death. Either side of his birth details we have two very finely worked angels. Below the inscription five baskets of flowers. All worked within a floral border.  The sampler measures only 8 x 6 1/2 inches 20 x 16.5 cm and is framed in a new but traditional maple f5rame with giltwood spacer. Condition. two lines across the sampler are from were the original glass has been broken  allowing grime and discoloration to get to the sampler.This sampler is now on acid proof card Place a Bid!
