Original Solid Wood Brass ' Description Bidding is for a real solid wood and solid brass ships wheel. This item is from a real ship!!! Not a fabricated decoration! Item was purchased in the mid 70's from a western New York maritime auction.  This wheel was securely mounted in the riverboat room of the famous Reds restaurant ( in continuous operation since 1944!) in West Coxsackie New York from the early 70's until 2005. Remodeling forced us to finally remove the massive wheel from the west wall of the riverboat room. We have come to terms with letting someone else benefit from this very cool piece of maritime and Reds Restaurant history.The wheel is in great condition with no real scratches to the finish of the wood or the brass. The dimensions are as follows; Spoke to spoke is 63 inches. Solid brass center hub is 13 inches. Outside of wheel is 51 inches in diameter. Item weighs well over 100 pounds so should be pickup only. It could be freighted, but the winning bidder would have to arrange for this service. We would be happy to help in any way possible. We have decided to start the bidding at a low price with a small reserve to protect our investment.
