Originaly producing traditional boats he went onto produce all sorts of sea fairing boats including as in this case a Viking Long Boat. I feel he continued a traditional form of Folk Art produced by sailors from the mid 19th century. worked in coloured wool with silk highlights it includes a raised padded sail , as found on the best woolwork pictures.
