The oil painting is on panel and shows richness in depth and color. The muse of music is surrounded by cherubs and an open book of music with a pair of cooing doves. The muse reclines in the clouds, as she looks on at the cherubs with an angelic gaze. This trumeau mirror is crowned with a hand carved and gold leafed egg and dart moulding. Carved and gilded moulding frames the beautiful arch of the painted sky. A gorgeous, soft crackle can be seen up close on the painting itself. The wooden frame is layered with depth, patina and texture. This piece measures 39 1/2" x 72 "tall. The painting itself is 22 1/2" x 20 1/2". Piece is signed. They have sold their original hand made works of art at the NY Gift Show, in shops in Charleston, SC, at show in High Point, NC ,and have shown in various home shows in Charlotte, North Carolina. They have also designed for furniture companies. They are launching their own web site and visiting National Trade shows starting in January 2009. They are going to offer a small selection here on eBay for the Christmas season. They do take commissions, and are able to capture any period, style, color and patina. Dustin has years of experience as a wood worker, carver and guilder while Brandi has been painting for twenty years. Painting is in oils, treated with a special finish to age it and sealed with a varnish. Wooden fame entirely hand crafted by Dustin and finished with her specially developed painted patina and glaze and is built in birchwood. Decorative gold leafed detail is entirely designed, hand carved, and gilded by Dustin to compliment this specific painting. You will NOT find this carving anywhere else. This mirror has been distressed and aged with Harlan McKenna Designs special antiquing and distressing method. Entire piece was designed and built as a collaborative effort by the artists themselves.
