Description
A fine and rare brass cased chart compass. Beautifully made, with silvered scales, it locks via the screw meachanism at one end. A chart compass is a specialised compass for orienting a nautical chart or map to magnetic North. It can also be used for drawing accurate true North-South lines, or lines within 10 degrees of North on a chart. 21cm long, 5.3cm wide. In excellent undamaged condition.
