Each stands 40" high (on 4" stands), and is intricately carved. The detail is positively magnificent. The pair weighs nearly 27-1/2 pounds (not including the stands). The bottoms are signed. The consignor of this pair is aware of the impending ban on ivory that eBay is about to impose, and they know that the demand for high-quality pieces will continue to rise as it becomes more difficult to obtain ivory. (A few weeks ago, I attended a local auction at which two similarly carved pieces sold for about $7,800 each -- and they were a full 12" shorter than these.)
