Description
PRE-COLUMBIAN NARINO FOOTED BOWL FROM ECUADOR This vessel dates from ancient Ecuador and dates from AD750-1200. It measures 8” in diameter and 3 1/2” in height. The center of the bowl is criss-crossed by a wide cinnamon colored band that seperates it into four quadrants. Each section is filled with odd lines with squared elements rising from them to create a complicated motif with a sense of motion and depth. It is an intriguing piece. There are absolutely no cracks or breaks to the body of the bowl and there is evidence of very little paint loss due to usage and you can make out patterns and mineral deposits that help to attest to its age. It is guaranteed authentic and comes from the collection of former ambassador Findley Burns, Jr. The purchaser will pay $40 for USPS priority mail and this price includes handling and insurance.
