Description
A TRULY FINE EXAMPLE OF A PRE-COLUMBIAN PERUVIAN CHIMU / INCA BLACKWARE JAR This choice piece is intact and measures a full 9" to the top of the double stirrup with a monkey adorno at the base of one stirrup and is 5 1/2 " in diameter. It has been highly burnished to perfection and is outstanding in design and workmanship. It dates from AD 1200-1500. It has a squared lower spout and saucer form body with upper interesting ringshapped raised concentric ring ornamentation. It comes from a private Maryland collection and will be sent with full documentation from an impeccable source which guarantees its authenticity and condition.
