WONDERFUL GERMAN HORSEMAN'S SWORD - CIRCA 1625-1640 A FAIRLY RARE SWORD IN SUCH GREAT QUALITY.  MOST LIKELY SERVED IN THE THIRTY YEARS WAR !!! 29 INCH BLADE, 34 INCHES OVERALL.  Iron hilt with single broad edged side guard retaining its original pierced plate and thumb ring opposite. Flattened knuckle bow and mathching side bar connected to the compressed form pommel. Iron wire wrapped grip complete. Crisp king's head maker's marks each side and short fullers marked with an incomplete maker's name, MICHAEL/ME FECIT. Again, undoubtedly served in the Thirty Years War when millions of men were armed with such weapons.  A GREAT FIND AND ADDITION TO ANYONE'S SWORD COLLECTION !!
