It is called Pages revolving magnet. The replica is made by a professional instrumentmaker and is of high quality workmanship using authentic materials as a soft iron magnet, mahagony base, brass fittings and cotton covered wire coils. The motor runs on a 1.5 volt normal battery cell. This is a truly unique item, wich is practically impossible to find as an original because they are museum pieces.
