The Voyages & Travels of Sir John Mandevile, Knight. Wherein is set down the Way to the Holy Land, and to Hierusalem: as also to the Lands of the Great Caan, and of Prestor John: to Inde, and Divers Other Countries. Woodcut title vignette and 70 crude text illustrations, including some repeats. [74] (of [76]) leaves; lacks blank A2 and final text leaf T4. Mostly printed in black letter. 4to, 182x138 mm, old leather, brittle and worn, crudely rebacked with morocco retaining original or early backstrip, hinges reinforced with cloth tape; margins trimmed affecting top word ("The") on title, most headlines, and occasionally the top line of text, contents soiled throughout, most heavily on title and last page, scattered stains, ink blots, and early marginalia, T1 and T3 remargined, title missing small portion of blank outer margin and mounted, gutter reinforced with cloth tape. Handwritten passage concerning Mandeville on front flyleaf copied from Thomas Pennant's 1782 Journey from Chester to London. London: R. Scott et al., 1677
