Description
gman Store 1920 Mahogany Dental Cabinet w 25 Drawers & Marble Base ".......if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves" --Winston Churchill NEVER GIVE UP YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS! "Sic Semper Tyrannis"! We are very proud to offer another fine item from the estate of the former Lieutenant Commander (ships doctor) on the USS Lexington (CV-2). He served in that capacity from 1931-1939. The mahogany cabinet retains it's original manufacturing label showing it was made and inspected in 1920. Measurements are 43-1/2" wide x 41" tall x 12" deep and weighs a hefty 110 pounds (125# shipping weight. Overall condition is very good with a satin/eggshell finish, and appears to have been professionally refinished at some time in the past. There are 25 drawers of various sizes & interior configurations. Some are divided. Most of the glass knobs are original with the exception of 6 drawers which are similar and match very well. The beautifully veined marble base is attached. There is a locking mechanism inside the back in the form of 3 wooden rods. Pulling either them to the left moves all 3 in unison & forces them into blocks on the back of each drawer preventing it's removal....We just can't figure out how to make it all work! The large drawer in the middle has a lock, but no key. This may be how it all locks up?? We removed the drawers and one of the back panels so you could see how this operates. In any event it is a beautiful cabinet and would be perfect for the display of your smalls, tools, collection, or whatever! WE APPRECIATE YOUR CONSIDERATION, AND WELCOME YOUR QUESTIONS & COMMENTS. The cabinet may be picked up in the Little Rock, Arkansas area with no shipping or handling charges. Best shipping rate is DHL. Successful U.S. (lower 48) bidder pays only $175 for fast, careful, insured shipping.
