This auction is for an early 20thC Gibson Flattop F-Hole Guitar and its original hard-shell case, both in excellent condition. The serial number inside the guitar is 801F-10. I assume someone will know the exact year of manufacture and model. The original owner purchased this guitar and never learned to play, so his wife said. It sat in the closet until his death. He kept it, always thinking he would learn to play someday but died sometime before she placed it in the auction that I purchased it from. The original bill of sale was inside the case, but someone walked off with it before the guitar was sold. She said the strings were the original ones that came with the guitar. Of course I had to change them thinking that I would be more apt to play it with the new strings but that didn't happen. I think I've played it maybe 3-6 times at most, as I have several other guitars in the house that are my beat and bangers. The finish is about as good as anyone could hope to find on a vintage Gibson. The red stripe pipeing around the top of the case is still in excellent condition as is the purple velvet lining inside the case. All latches work correctly. Guitar neck is straight, no seperations to the body and no repairs anywhere. Exactly as I bought it about 15 years ago. The sucessful bidder will be very pleased when they receive this guitar.
