This book titled More Secret Remedies What They Cost and What They Contain Based on Analysis mad for the British Medical Association  (Second Series - Volume II) was published in 1912 and is a first edition copy. This book has cloth covered card boards and contains 282 pages including index. This edition is more scarce than Volume I. It contains amazing information showing that patent medicines from the hey day of the snake oil medicine shows in many cases had little, if any, medicinal ingredients. Others that did often relied heavily on narcotics and/or alchohol to produce their "cures." There are chapters on the popular obesity cures of the day, as well as drug habit cures, hair preperations and more. Though a British publication, it contains quite a few American patent meds such as Warners Safe Cure, Carter's Little Liver Pills, Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root and Indian Cough Cure, Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup, etc.   This book is in average condition for this type of binding and this particular book. The cloth covered stiff boards are worn and soiled with some loss to title. Inside is near fine with bright unmarked pages.
