Porter Oct. 10, 1885 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" Gorham Co. of Providence, R.I.       This is an extremely rare Gorham copper & silver & gold soap holder from 1885.  The holder is copper and the 3-D design is sterling silver with a gold ground beneath the lady and flowers.  The marks on it include: GORHAM CO. and an Anchor and Y31  P.  The "Y" was used for copper and the "P" is the actual production year of 1883.  It was actually produced in 1883 and monogrammed in 1885.  It has an Art Nouveau design with a Lady and fruits, flowers, leaves and a bird. The inside is worn from age and use and shown in one of the attached pictures.  The outside is in excellent condition for age.  There are a few very small dents on the bottom from age and use.    Please send me an e-mail if you have any questions.
