Description
girlscout store 1880'S EARTHENWARE INHALER S. MAW & SONS ENGLAND Antique Earthenware Inhaler S. Maw & Sons EnglandThis is a grand old Victorian inhaler from the well known pharmaceutical firm of S. Maw Son & Sons, Aldersgate Street, London, England. It is earthenware in a pale ivory color that reminds me of ironstone. It comes with a cork and mouthpiece. It measures 9 1/2" high from bottom of inhaler to top of mouthpiece; 6 1/2" from bottom to top of inhaler without mouthpiece. This company dates to about 1880. It has full printed instructions for use on the back. "For the inhalation of the vapour of Hot Water the water should be Boiling and the Inhaler not more than half filled. When Infusions are required the ingredients should be placed in the Inhaler and Boiling Water poured upon them. Volatile and other liquids should be added to the Boiling Water." The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Please contact me with questions although I admit I know very little about this piece - I bought it at an estate sale in New York. Successful bidder will pay $10.00 priority mail insured. Non U.S. bidders should contact me for specific postal rates to their country. Due to ebay's rule change, PayPal is the only method of payment I accept. PayPal—eBay's service to make fast, easy, and secure payments for your eBay purchases!
