Description
Very handsome early steam engine gauge. Heavy all brass bezel and case. Lettering/numbering on brass dial is deeply engraved (Silver plated). Perfect for that steam engine or early locomotive restoration project. Remarkable condition for being 125 years old. Gauge measures approx. 7 ¾ inches across the back and 2 5/8 inches deep. Gauge was made by The Ashcroft Manufacturing Company of New York & Bridgeport. Compared very well against my test gauge (tester and test gauge not included in auction). This gauge has the 1876 Ashcroft trademark and early 5 digit serial number “14033”. Checks must clear, MO goes out immediately. Buyer pays packaging & shipping.
