Free Shipping on Purchases of 5 or More Maps and Prints Description:  It is an original antique map with handcoloring as issued from an 1860 First Edition of Mitchell's New General Atlas published by S. Augustus Mitchell in Philadelphia, 1860. Although many later edition Mitchell Maps have a copyright of 1860, the floral border is undeniable: this border only appeared in the 1860 edition and on a few maps from the 1861 edition. After that the border was changed to a more standard floral design and by 1868 it changed again to a grapevine border. A very rare map with a copy of the original title page included for authenticity.  The map also has a copyright date of 1860 in the bottom margin of the map. It is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. Also shown are Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Belize, Cuba, Jamaica, Hayti, St. Domingo, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Florida Keys, the Antilles, Leeward Islands, Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Tortuga, Curacao and other places. Overall, A Beautiful Map that will frame up nicely!  Size: The map image measures approximately 14 by 18 inches on a 15 1/2 by 25" page with a wide margin all around for framing. Condition: The map is in Good condition with overall tonal aging and some darkening around the edges and along the centerfold. Other than a random minor spot, the map image is vert clean and will frame up nicely. The pics pretty much show all. Overall, it is a very beautiful map with vibrant original hand coloring and a nice classic antique quality as desired. Pics are of the actual map and color is accurate.
