Description
You are bidding on an early 1800 hand forged wrought iron anchor which has been fitted with a white oak stock. This anchor weighs in at approximately 2000 pounds is 8 ft tall & has an 10 ft oak stock. The anchor is in great shape although it is getting swallowed by my landscape. You can see the grain of the hand wrought iron & the left fluke has a primitive repair which is really unique. This is the same size & type of anchor that was widely used on the whaling ships of the mid 1800's. I have sold many anchors over the years & it is time to clean out the collection.Take a visit to the Mystic Seaport, the nations largest maritime museum & you will see some whaling anchors & you will also see that this has the exact same dimensions. Even though I have a few of these, trust me it took years of looking & collecting to add them to my collection. I'm listing this at a fraction of what I sold many of these for over the past 8 years & a fraction of what I paid as well. Please email me at sparklelake@aol.com or call my cell at 860-625-0211 if you are looking for an anchor. I can load this on this end onto your truck or trailer or can freight it out at your cost. Buy this for your sorority & be the envy of the campus! The last 4 pictures listed are of the anchor next to it and it is NOT included in this ebay auction.
